Amazingly i taught the new trainers to pull last week and not one argued when i said collapsed shoulders and a less than straight upper back are okay!

Nice. My left shoulder is weak from an old injury, so it collapses forward a bit easier than I would like. It puts me in a little bit of a less advantageous pulling position, but it isn’t going to kill me. I just need to get my rhomboids stronger.

To top off the stupidity of the trainer at my gym, he was trying to tell me how to deadlift properly. This was after telling me that he never pulls more than 315. He told me I was rounding my lower back, which is completely bullshit. The only thing going on was my shoulders were collapsing forward, which makes it look like my back is rounding. Next time he tries to instruct me, I am just going to tell him to fuck off. He doesn’t know his shit, and he no place trying to train me.

Pulled 405 for a set of 3 and 3 sets of 2. Not bad seeing I haven’t done deadlifts in 4 or 5 months, and I am just getting over a cold.
